When to start pulling the strings

Part of the thesis of this blog, and my thinking about our life, is that we've been 'played' since day one.  I'm 43 years old and have watched thousands of hours of advertisements and been manipulated by the industry that Bernay's invented.

Note this piece, shared by the great JD:

'Adweek' tracks The Next Great Consumer: infants to 3-year-olds

"The Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood, which estimates that 14% of children under 2 years old spend more than two hours a day with screen media, believes marketers are subtly encouraging parents to soothe fussy babies with cell phone videos and games from sites that also sell a host of baby-targeted goods."

As shocking and startling as this story may seem... it's just confirmation of what we've known for years... we're all just groomed to be successful consumers.  The "market" isn't rational, it just wants you to shut up and shop...
